Although the last few years have been hit and miss, I still look forward to the release each year of the Dieux du Stade Calendar and DVD. This year promises to be a bit different given Tony Duran was brought in as the photographer. I love Tony's work and can't wait to see the results.

Not sure when we in North America will get our first look, but the calendar will hit the streets of Paris this week so scans of the shots should be showing up soon. Here are a few that the French magazine Gala recently published. You can pre order the DVD HERE:

Wardrobe Malfunction of the Day: Ricky Berens

With the international governing body of swimming banning Polyurethane suits, it was nice that we had chance to see the true beauty of these suits. They all should have been worn the way Ricky Berens wore his while competing in the 400-meter freestyle relay preliminaries. I am sure this was embarrassing for Ricky. Urged on by relay teammate Cullen Jones, Berens competed anyway, helping the U.S. team qualify for Sunday's final.

"I kind of freaked out for just a second," Berens said. "I felt like [the tear] was almost down to my knees. I felt like I was putting on a pretty good show."

Athletes of the Day: John Hyden & Sean Scott

Although John Hyden & Sean Scott did not win yesterday at the 2009 FIVB World Championships in Norway, they are champions in my book. Coming off several wins including recently at the Atlanta Open, I hope these two stick together as not only are they very enjoyable to watch, they make a winning team.

French swimmer Frédérick Bousquet is a freestyle and butterfly swimmer who is the current holder of the world record in the 50 m freestyle. Frédérick has also moved to the world of modeling and has signed with Nathalie Guest Models.
